Jakob Badl, the builder of the Kurhaus and Marija's and Jakob's baths, and thus the founder of health tourism in Krapinske Toplice, planted a chestnut alley in gratitude for the cured sciatica and created a pleasant promenade leading from the bathhouse to the former “Bellevue” health resort. Today, the Wild Chestnut Alley is an attractive pedestrian link between the center of Krapinske Toplice and the village of Klokovec, and it is used by locals and many visitors. The Chestnut Alley is an integral part of the Pedestrian ring of Toplice.
