Zabok is an urban center and the very backbone of its cultural, sporting, educational and social life. The hills of Zabok nurtured one of the greatest Croatian author, in whose honor the Days of Ksaver Šandor Gjalski are held. On the foundations of the textile industry, the cornerstone of the industrialization of Zabok, with Milan Prpić as its founding father, stands reGenerator - a modern socio-cultural center. The backbones of its cultural life are certainly the gallery and the town library, which host interesting events and exhibitions. The town is full of events. A must-see for the youngest is KiKi - an international children's film festival. Younger, but also slightly "older" audiences fond of good music gather around HGF festival, while those craving adrenaline can try many sports - participate in Zagorje trek or visit Zagorje Airport, a place where they can enjoy the International Hot Air Balloon Festival or try flying in a balloon, glider or gyrocopter.
