“Vinagora is located in the westernmost part of Hrvatsko Zagorje, between Pregrada and Desinić. You will be captivated by the beauty and the view from the top of the hill with a true jewel of Croatian sacral heritage – the parish church of Mary of the Visitation. The beautiful hills of Zagorje are green covered by a colorful carpet of forest trees. The meadows are dotted with fields, orchards and vineyards cultivated by the diligent labor of the vineyard workers. Little roads connect the hamlets where people live by farming. The past of Vinagora is closely connected with the history of the Ratkay counts and Veliki Tabor. Thanks to its natural beauties and the church of Our Lady of Vinagora, it is one of the most visited tourist towns in this region.” This is how Vinagora, a hill at elevation of 407 m, is described by Boris and Gordana Krizmanić in the book “Vinagora and its surroundings”.
The place can be reached by an asphalt road that winds between houses, vineyards and orchards. There is a beautiful view from the top of the hills and valleys of Zagorje all the way to Strahinjičica, Ivančica, Sljeme, Kunagora, Cesargradska gora and the Slovenian mountains in the distance.
