In early June, all roads lead to Mala Erpenja, where Mala Erpenja Trekk is held. The picturesque village in the center of Hrvatsko Zagorje was named after numerous strawberry estates during the Hungarian rule (Hung. eper = strawberry). Mala Erpenja Trekk is a sports and recreational race in which competitors can choose between two categories. “Forest Strawberry” is approximately 12 km long and it is intended for recreationists, mountaineers, hikers and nature lovers, whereas “Big Strawberry” is approximately 25 km long and is intended for athletes and those who want to test their physical abilities and abilities to navigate in nature.
